2010 Kriton Hatzios Symposium
Each year our Vice-Chair organizes a symposium on a topic of interest. This year, Dr. Paxton Payton organized a series of talks to address the role of small RNAs in the regulation of gene expression. We were fortunate to have three outstanding researchers in this field to present talks at our meeting.
"Gene Regulation by Small RNAs and the Technological Application in Plants"
Dr. Guiliang Tang from the University of Kentucky
"Exploring the small RNA world using plant model systems"
Dr. Zhixin Xie from Texas Tech
"Genomical and functional analysis of the small RNA and mRNA transcriptome and degradeome of Miscanthus x giganteus"
Dr. Magdy Alabady from the Energy Bioscence Instituete (EBI), Institute of Genome Biology (IGB) of the University of Illinois
